Easy to read in one sitting. Chock-full of good information and wise insight. Spend time with Be Your Own Guide, and then live by it's guidance. Your life will improve I started reading “self help” books when I discovered the Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus books as a teenager. I didn’t realize then that the draw I had to these books was actually self discovery and betterment.I have read a lot of self improvement books; some multiple times, they resonated with me that much. This was not that book for me. This book to me is a “starter” book. This book is ideal for someone getting their feet wet in the affirmation game. It was short and sweet with YouTube links, free gifts, and a lot of sample affirmations but the meat and potatoes of the content wasn’t there, only referenced in name drops.If you are looking for a short easy read on the subject of affirmation to start you off and see what all the hype is about this would work. It lacks the scientific facts that it claims backup the reasoning but does do a good job of directing the reader where to go for more in depth material. Overall the book is ok and I’d never want to deter someone from starting down the path to self/surrounding betterment but I feel the author just wanted to spread the positive effects the practice has had on her by rewriting and distributing others’ works.If you like this book then I’d recommend the Secret and You are a Badass, 2 of my favorites and aforementioned rereads.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
